I'd rather mod it than permanently switch to the Z15. That's issue, it hasn't made me want to switch away from my One 2. I've tried some Speed Bronze and Thick Jades and I now know I have to mod my One 2 with the jades. They are not as scratchy as my Cherry MX blue switches found in my One 2 and the fact that I can swap them out for a different kind of MX switch on the fly is amazing. The Kailh speed silver switches are a dream to type on. I don't really use macros so I cannot vouch on those. Holding down the FN key will show you all of the options you can do with the keyboard.

The RGB also does not require the software to get some of the effects to work. I am pleased to see a standard bottom row layout which is something Corsair has not been doing and it made finding replacement keycaps for their keyboards a complete pain in the rear. However for the 130$ MSRP, it needs to improve many things before becoming highly recommended.įirst however I want to praise it for what it does well in my opinion. So far it is quite a nice keyboard to type on, especially for the 50$ price I paid. I was attracted to the hotswap sockets in particular.

Overall Review: My daily driver is a Ducky One 2 Rosa with MX Blue switches and I got this keyboard as a spare. The extra switches are not even the right kind as far as the Speed Silver variant goes. Included keycap and switch pullers are tiny and cheap. I got the Speed Silver ones and they are very quiet. Nice RGB that can be somewhat controlled without any silly software. Overall Review: Great keyboard, horrible software. and share with them my own experience and links to the many other customers that are having the same problems that hes running ads for. Gamers Nexus advertises for you and your keyboards, and Im going to email Steve and Co. EVGA, If your listening, fix your software. I had the same experience with the x17 mouse, but that will be in its own review. But I got get it back and the firmware updated and everything is fine now. I didnt give it enough ram and only one core so that was my bad. I lost all lights and it wouldnt register in the software.

It worked for me, but I almost bricked the keyboard doing the update because something happened to the VM and it froze up.

One workaround that I found and I tried and it eventually worked, was to install windows in a VM, download the software, and do the firmware update on the VM, and then it should work just fine on the host machine. If true, that is completely unacceptable. I read somewhere that support told people to reinstall Windows and the. That the keyboard needs a firmware update, and if your windows install was pretty old it wouldnt work properly. I went online and found plenty of others saying the same thing. I got older versions of the software and nothing helped. Reboots and cold starts didnt help at all. I couldnt get it to stay open no matter how or where I plugged it in.

I downloaded it and plugged in the keyboard and the software would just force quit. HoweverĬons: The Unleash RGB software is pretty bad. I wasnt sure about optical switches until I used them and now wont be switching back. The macro keys are another reason to look into this keyboard. The TOF sensor is more than a mere gimmick that actually works and works well. The clickyness of it reminds me of the old IBM model M clicky sounds. Pros: The keyboard itself is very wonderful.
